BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience in a related field. MSEE is a plus.
- 0 to 3 years of professional hands-on experience in Hardware Controls Engineering.
- Up to 20% of travel may be required between locations.
- Ability to travel for work-related purposes as needed; access to reliable transportation is required due to the nature of our business and multiple client sites.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Background checks are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience designing electrical schematics.
- AutoCAD Electrical experience.
- Understanding of electrical drafting standards.
- Familiarity with industrial control panel design practices.
- Primary focus is the design and documentation of custom automation electrical systems, including schematics, panel layouts, and electrical Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Create detailed electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, including overview drawings, wiring diagrams, and panel and cabinet assembly drawings.
- Identify and integrate off-the-shelf components, including controllers, pneumatics, fluidics, robots, vision systems, motion systems, sensors, part handling systems, safety systems, and conveyors.
- Design power, control, and safety circuits in compliance with industry standards (NFPA 79, UL 508A, ISO 12100, ISO 13849, IEC 61508).
- Support system startup and troubleshooting as needed to validate designs.
- Participate in regular project meetings with clients and the project team to review project status (design, schedule, budget, change notifications, and risks).
- Give input and maintain AC industrial electrical design standards and processes.
- Maintain professional, healthy working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Stay up-to-date on product improvements and newly available technologies for integration.
- Assist in proposal writing by providing design concepts, labor and material estimates, and scheduling.
